I know that the feedback that I have received from parents is limited, but most of it has been positive. They don't tell me whether they like that the students have to watch the videos, but they tell me how much they like to watch the videos. During parent-teacher conferences I had at least 6 parents tell me how much they enjoyed the videos. They liked the idea that they could watch the videos with their kids and know how I was teaching the lessons in class. This is beneficial if they don't want to teach another way of doing the problem and for the parents who may have forgotten how to do some of the problems. I also started putting video answer keys up for test reviews. The parents seemed to love using those as reviews for their children.
The biggest complaint that I got on conference night was that I hadn't posted a new video in a week and a half. They parents told me that the videos helped them to follow along with me in class. That has had me thinking that I may start to make multiple videos for each unit. I want to keep my videos short for lessons so the students will watch them and not be discouraged. I think that my next step might be to start having answer key videos. This will allow me to explain why or how I got the answers. This could be a huge benefit for the students.
